Membrane materials are generally divided into PVC, PTFE and ETFE membrane three categories. PVC film is based on polyester fiber, which is formed by PVC, and the base material of PTFE membrane is glass fiber, while ETFE film is without substrate and directly into film. And most membrane structure companies are mainly PVC and PTFE, so the following detailed introduction of these kinds of membrane materials.
First, PVC membrane Material (pvc-coatedpolyester):
PVC membrane material in materials and processing is more inexpensive than PTFE film, and has a soft material, easy construction advantages. But the strength, durability, fire resistance and other properties than the PTFE membrane difference. PVC film is made of polyester fiber fabric and PVC coating (polyvinyl chloride), the general construction of the membrane material, is on the surface treatment of PVC coating material, coated with a number of micron thick acrylic resin (acrylic), in order to improve the antifouling resistance. However, after a few years, it will change color, fouling, deterioration. General PVC Film durability, depending on the use of the environment in 5-8 years. In order to improve the weathering resistance of PVC film, we have developed a coating on the surface treatment of PVC coating material with fluorine resin, in order to improve the weathering resistance and fouling resistance of the membrane material. PVDF membrane Material: PVDF is a two fluorinated resin (polyvinylidenefluoride) abbreviation, the PVC film surface treatment of PVDF resin coating material called PVDF film. PVDF membrane compared with the general PVC film, the durability of the life to improve to about 7-10 years. PVF Material: PVF is a merchants of a fluorinated resin (polyvinylfluoride). PVF membrane material is in the surface treatment of PVC film with PVF resin film-like sheet (laminate) processing, better durability than PVDF film, more anti-staining advantages. However, because of workability, workability and fire resistance are not good, so use is limited.
Second, PTFE membrane (Ptfecoatedfiberglass):
PTFE film is a material made of PTFE resin on ultra-fine glass fiber fabric. The biggest feature of PTFE membranes is durability, fire resistance and high fouling resistance. But the PTFE membrane and PVC membrane, the material cost and processing cost is high, and soft soft low, in the construction to avoid the glass fiber is broken, must have special treatment tools and construction technology. PTFE Film also has the following excellent features:
1. Durability: coating material of PTFE to acid, alkali and other chemical substances and UV very stable, not prone to discoloration or rupture. After long-term use, glass fiber will not cause deterioration of strength or reduce tension. The color of the film is generally white, high transmittance, durability of more than 25 years. 2. Anti-fouling: Because the coating material is PTFE resin, the surface friction coefficient is low, so it is not easy to pollute, can be washed by rainwater. 3. Fire Resistance: PTFE membrane conforms to nearly all countries of fire retardant material test qualified characteristics, can replace other roofing materials for the same use.
Three, ETFE membrane:
ETFE membrane is an excellent alternative to transparent structures and has proven to be a reliable and cost-effective roofing material for many projects over the years. The membrane is made of artificial high-strength Fluoropolymer (ETFE), its unique anti-adhesion surface makes it highly anti-fouling, easy to clean. The main dirt can usually be removed by rainwater. The ETFE membrane has a lifetime of at least 25-35 years and is an ideal material for permanent multilayer movable roof structures. The membrane material is used for two or three layers of inflatable support structure with a span of 4 meters, also can increase the film span according to the geometrical and climatic conditions of special engineering. The membrane length is easy to install as standard, generally 15-30 meters. Small-span single-layer structures are also available in smaller sizes. ETFE film to achieve B1, DIN4102 fire rating standards, burning will not drip. And the film quality is very light, only 0.15-0.35 kg per square meter. This feature makes it advantageous even in the case of film melting caused by smoke and fire.
The transmittance of the ETFE film can be as high as 95% depending on the location and surface printing. The material does not block the transmission of ultraviolet light, so as to ensure the natural light inside the building. The semi-transparency of the material can be further reduced to 50% by surface printing. The K value can be as high as 2.0w/㎡k according to the geometrical conditions and the layer number of the film. The energy dissipation index takes a three-layer printed film as an example to reach 0.77.
Due to its excellent quality, the ETFE membrane requires almost no daily maintenance. A simple inspection of its roof due to mechanical damage (once a year is advisable) and in-situ maintenance as required. You can also check the ventilation system and replace the filter device. ETFE membranes are fully recyclable materials that can be reused to produce new membrane materials, or to separate impurities to produce other ETFE products.
