The membrane area of Malaysia country garden forest city traffic center membrane structure is 5150m2. The construction time is not long, and it only took 45 days to complete the project. In order to protect the vehicles parked in the open air from direct sunlight and rain, we adopted the roof ring cable membrane structure for design.
The roof structure consists of 36 cable frames arranged radially between an external steel pressure ring and two internal tension rings. The external pressure ring is a steel tube with a diameter of 1400mm, which is placed on 36 V-shaped columns. These V-shaped columns are placed on the concrete structure and inclined slightly outward.
Both ends of the V-shaped column are hinged so that the pressure ring can move slightly in the radial direction. The radial cable frames are connected by pressure rods to prevent mutual movement. The internal tension ring consists of a rope with a diameter of 100 mm. The vertical distance between the two tension rings is 20m, and they are connected by 36 steel pillars whose ends are connected with cast steel nodes on the tension ring. The entire structural system is prestressed to keep the building stable under frequent wind and other loads.
The cable frame is covered with membrane materials, and these membranes are supported by arched steel pipes straddling the two adjacent cable frames. Between adjacent arched steel pipes, the membrane is in the shape of a saddle, so that the surface can maintain a high degree of stability under normal pressure.
